High school student here.
I accepted the admission offer; however, I got an F in AP Statistics first semester and then dropped the class. I really didn’t need it (I already have 3 years of math). Does anyone know or have any hopeful stories? My GPA barely dropped, like 0.01, and is still above a 3.00. The class was online, and it was silly. Thanks.

Also, would it be possible if you told them you’d take it over the summer in a community college, or I don’t know, please share any stories!

Cal Poly does not want to see a grade in your Senior year drop below a “C”. Better contact the school admissions department and work out a plan. Do not sit on this or try to rationalize it away. An overall GPA above a 3.0 will not erase an “F”. If you act now, you will probably be OK. But must be taken care of especially in an AP class. Unfortunately, the fact that it was online or “not” important in your judgement is irrelevant. Communicate and get into action and you should be OK if they see you in action.

Cal Poly SLO looks at courses completed more seriously than grades. Better to get that F erased and change your application before Cal Poly SLO finds out.
