Hello, I just submitted all my ACT, SAT Subject Test, and TOEFL scores to my colleges today December 18 2015 at 10pm . I selected standard delivery for ACT and TOEFL, and rush delivery for SAT Subject Test. I am bit worried that my test scores will not arrive by December 31, which is the deadline for most of the colleges I am applying. Therefore, if you could please assure me that the test will arrive on time, it would be extremely reassuring for me. Also, I read that many colleges (such as Columbia University) do not want students to rush their scores. So, what should I do?
P.S. All my scores are already out, so I am rushing SAT subject scores that are already out, not waiting to be scored.
You should check colleges for actual test score deadlines. Most that have end of Dec, early Jan application deadlines, accept test scores that arrive after those deadlines. Many, such as all the ivies, even take the January SAT test.
Assuming you are talking about colleges with late Dec/early Jan app deadlines that actually require scores to be in their hands by the application deadline (a small minority), if you ordered scores sent December 18 regular delivery, they will most likely be delivered before December 31. That rush delivery for subject test scores was most likley not necessary. A number of colleges do not want rush delivery, but what they are talking about is rushed paper (mailed) delivery. If they are like most colleges and have electronic delivery, they will accept rushed electronic delivery scores, mainly because that is no different than sending scores by regular delivery except that it might accomplish sending the scores a day earlier than regular delivery. The testing agencies used to send all rushed scores by mail. That ended several years ago and now they send them by electronic delivery if the college has electronic delivery.
