So I was admitted into cal for spring of 2017 tonight and just realized that I am in violation of one of the terms of conditions. I am fully Igetc certified besides the one math course requirement. I was unable to take the planned math course in the spring due to it being a high impacted course. I am taking the math course in the summer. Is that going to be acceptable since I won’t be attending cal until spring of 2017? As long as I have it done by the summer will this effect my admission? If so, I will appeal and rescinded admission because I know if there is a will, there is a way. Please I know I made a mistake by avoiding taking this math course, but please give straight up advice as to what I can do further or if I should just give up. Which I won’t because once I get into my dream school, there is no other option.
you can call them to defer your admission till fall 2017
But how will that help?
UC’s do not defer unless there are special circumstances such as Military service. I would call admissions to see if taking the summer course is an acceptable option.
I did call. They didn’t seem to help. All they said was update the transfer admission form for any changes and we’ll get back to you. She said my admission wasn’t in jeopardy and that I am at an advantage for being a spring admit. What Does anyone else think of the situation?
@Delilahalviola i was also admitted for the spring 2017. On my conditions and terms it specifically states that u cannot take classes in the summer for the purpose of completing igetc. Does yours say that? If it does say that then u can’t take it over the summer to complete your igetc certification even though u won’t attend until the spring. But definately update your transfer admission form and just wait to see what they will say. Cause i also called them to ask if getting a W for one of my classes this semester would get my offer rescinded and they were not any help. All they said was to update the form and wait for them to contact u. So guess the only option for u is to wait and see…i know it sucks.
