I was accepted ED as a recruited, supported athlete into a top 50 LAC. My grades prior to senior year was a 3.84 CGPA. When I applied in december, my first quarter grades were sent. I had 2 D+'s in 2 AP classes, a C in an AP class, a B(regs), and 2 A’s. Now, after the 3rd qtr, I have no D’s, 3cs in all 3 of the AP classes, a B, B+, and an A. MY CGPA is now a 3.65 down from a 3.84.
I received merit aid from the school. Will my admission be rescinded?
You sent the D’s and C’s in December and were accepted anyway? If so, your grades have improved since then so I’d imagine they’d be pleased to see you are passing now!
Correct. So I have no more D’s but one grade slipped. My gpa in the winter for senior year was a 3.0 and that is what it is now. So I should have very little concern? Additionally, my GC said with 95% confidence I should be fine. The coach did mention they were concerned with the D’s but those are gone.
I’d say you’re good! Just don’t let up on your work any more… Only a few more months until you’re done.
Ok. Don’t plan on letting it go below what I have. Thank you.
If you are a recruited athlete, call your coach. Believe me, he wants you in because he wasted the slot on you if admissions rescinds your offer. So if there is any danger, he can help you work through it.
He probably won’t be happy, but I think if you go into it with the right attitude he will give you some assurance and let you know where the line really is that you can’t cross.
Got it. But my guidance counselor said I was fine, and my Seniorits grades are better than when I got in, so should I still bring it up to the coach if nothing has been brought up to him?
If your guidance counselor says you’re fine you probably are. If you want more assurance you could also ask the coach.
Thank you!
