I got a 3.2 gpa first semester, and now i'm looking at a 2.4 my second semester (2 Bs, 3 Cs). I am taking 3 APs, one Honors , and one regular difficulty class. Is this change in grades enough to get me rescinded?

No. C’s are typically normal from seniors. It’s really only D’s and F’s that would get you looked at for possible rescinding. However, what was your cumulative GPA over the first 3 years of high school?

Chill. You’ll be fine, they’d have to have reason beyond senior slacking to revoke your admission.

Honestly, that’s a little concerning. Typically I’m really positive about the whole thing because let’s be real, they understand senioritis happens, but that many Cs with that low of a GPA with academic performance so completely opposite of what your first three years were . . . that’s risky.

Remember that this is still literally one quarter of your high school career.

my cumulative gpa for the first 3 years was around a 3.5… does that make a difference?

krfan,

I too think you have been skating on thin ice. I think you are very lucky that the decision made to accept you was mostly based on the first 3 years of HS work with the 3.5 GPA. With that said, I think you will still keep your admission offer. You had an OK 3.2 GPA for the fall semester of senior year and that brings your average for the entire year to approx. 2.8 GPA. That is between a B- to B. Which is not as bad looking as that Spring 2011 GPA of 2.4.

I think you will still stay admitted. To ease your mind, you should contact your regional AO from the Admissions Office to make the inquiry.

Then, please DO NOT repeat this kind of performance in college!
