Will my Admissions be Revoked?

I’m very stressed out right now and all I need is some advice. No, I did not catch senioritis, in fact, I’ve been working a lot harder now than last semester, but my grades are much worse. I have multiple C’s and one F, but I’ve already been accepted into Rice University. Previously I’ve been getting all A’s but I don’t know what happened. In my opinion the classes got significantly harder and because of that my grades fell down very much.
What can I do? I’ve been trying to speak to the counselor but she’s very sure I can’t drop the class and even If I drop it will Rice revoke my admissions?
Also, the class were I got an F the teacher gave me a 0 on one of the tests because he caught me cheating. I was very stupid and just answering a text message but he gave me a 0 anyways. What can I do? I feel horrible.

You need to contact Rice ASAP. Multiple C’s is not good, and people can be revoked for failing classes. Here’s the deal. We don’t know if Rice will revoke you or not, they do. Time spent collecting guesses here is just time wasted.

Furthermore if you wait until they get your final grades late in the summer it will be too late to do anything to salvage your admission. If you contact them now and your academic performance is an issue there may still be a chance of keeping your admission if you do well enough in summer school, or perhaps something else they can work out with you. Work out now, not in August.

You better come up with something better than this. Blaming the teachers, blaming “classes got harder”, just isn’t going to fly. Simple question: did everyone in your classes see their grades fall to C’s? I bet not. Rice is likely to ask for an explanation, and a good explanation involves accepting responsibility and explaining why this isn’t going to happen in the future (eg. when you are enrolled at Rice, where, safe to say, classes will be significantly harder).

I’m almost 99% sure that any top 20 universities like Rice would rescind a student if they get an F without a reasonable excuse. You should still contact Rice as the above poster mentioned,

There’s never an impossibility, especially when it comes to marks. Work your butt off like your life depends on it. You may have to end up dropping all extracurriculars and studying every waking moment, but hey, it’s better than not going to university. Best of luck.

Yeah, it’s pretty likely Rice will rescind if you have an F on your transcript. Best of luck to you.

An F grade tends to make it highly likely that you admissions to most selective colleges will be rescinded. Multiple C grades (even without an F grade) will put your admission to a highly selective college at risk.

Start exploring your local community colleges and their transfer-preparation options. Look up the frosh/soph requirements for your possible majors at your state universities, then use the transfer articulation listings between them and your local community colleges to see what courses you need to sign up for at the community colleges.
