Will my AP Calc score matter? (accepted)

I will be majoring in Statistics, so I should have no trouble meeting the mathematics distribution requirement. Also, my teacher told our class to retake calculus in college, and I think I will follow his advice. I already paid the fee for my AP Calculus AB test, but I'm starting to wonder if a good score would benefit me at all.

I'm hoping to find some motivation to study hard this week!

As a statistics major, you will probably meet the “formal studies” distribution requirement in your first two quarters.

A “5” on AP Calculus AB will get you credit for MATH 220. If you follow your teacher’s advice, when you take MATH 220, you will lose the AP credit (you can’t have both an AP credit and a class credit for the same class).

Sorry I can’t help with motivation. Would a good score give you some self-confidence going into your calculus sequence at NU? :)

Good luck with your AP test and your Statistics major!

A 5 on calc AB gets you credit for MATH 220. It can also get you into more advanced math sequences (MENU, mostly).

If you’ve taken AB and did well, then you should probably start with 224. It’s the second half of calc AB.
