my question may sound a little silly to someone but i still wanna ask do you guys ever consider ur application being too lengthy? I dont mean that my essays and recs are repeating points and wasting words. actually i think my 3 recs and 2 essays can demonstrate my personality and achievements very well but one of my teacher just told me that my recs are too lengthy.
each of my recommendation and essay contains about 500 words and im also considering to include a cover letter to state my educational goals and why i chose to attend the university.
So, would my application including 3 recs and 2 personal statements too lengthy that makes admission officers lose patience? if so, what am i going to do about it? maybe ask teachers to write a shorter one within 300 words?

“ill my application be too lengthy? ?”

Not if you give what’s been asked. Through the common application, you pick and choose what goes where. Submit what’s asked, no more.

1) some schools want 3 rec letters (their length is fine) and 2 essays: obviously for them, you’re fine

2) MANY schools want fewer – for them, you should send only what is asked.

3) DO NOT send a cover letter. Not needed, not wanted.

so no supplement meterials necessary actually?
well the case is for u of minnesota, there is no rec or essay required. but i get to know that my essays and recs will be viewed along with my application if i send them. i know about this through emailing the school officials.
so im very concerned about what is enough to send the supplements.

Necessary? Unless specifically requested (such as an architecture portfolio or audition tape into a music program), NO.

A very small number of schools allow students with EXCEPTIONAL talents to submit supplemental materials. You need to read what each school says.
