I was recently accepted ED to Williams, however I am a little worried about my first semester grades. I will have 3 A's, 1 B+, 1 B, and 1 C+, and possibly a C in PreCalc. I know that in my application my weakest area by far was my transcript, I am a mainly B student, but I believe my test taking abilities, and EC involvement allowed me to shine in the admissions process. I have mostly C's in math courses throughout high school as I have had major difficulties grasping major concepts. Also the C+ would be in a Religion course. Would Williams care about my math since I'm sure they know that math isn't what made me a great applicant, also do they care about a religion class.

you should be fine. just don’t get a d or below

Also, for the sake of hitting college running, look into better ways of studying math that suit you. Maybe you could use a peer tutor or online resources? Using your teacher more when you don’t understand? These are all things that will help when you hit that college class that hits hard.

As for the religion class, you might want to think about why you got a lower grade in that and what you’d do differently to raise your grade.

You can’t change what’s happened but you have control of your second semester grades so go out with a bang.

Bring it up in Jan-February since by mid February your counselor will send your Mid year report with your semester grades on it. A C is okay, but you don’t want to push it, especially in religion. If you can bring that up to B- by then, I don’t think there would be any problem. A D however would be a problem in any subject.
