I intend to apply to some decent schools, and I'm not sure if my GPA will hurt me. I have a 3.92 UW (4.78 W) currently. I've had 2 B+'s so far (2nd semester Freshman year in English and 1st semester sophomore year in English) and I will most likely have 1-2 more by the time I graduate in AP classes. I will most likely graduate with a 3.90-3.94 UW (4.82ish weighted). I am taking all AP and IB classes, so my schedule is not easy. My SAT score is currently 2150 (with no prep so when I retake I am expecting 2250+) and I am involved in a decent amount of EC's. These B's would pull me down in class rank from top 2ish% to 4-5%; however, the people above me don't have as high of SAT scores for the most part. Do you guys think that these B's will negatively effect me in the admissions process?

anyone???

What do you think? Obviously it’ll have some effect, however minor it may be. But for the most part you should be fine. I’m in the same situation as you, 1 B sophomore year and most likely 1 B this year 1st semester.

Which are those “decent schools” you speak of?

Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Emory, Duke, Wake Forest, MIT, some Ivies, etc.

Your Bs are fine.
