Will my GPA matter once I graduate high school?

It’s my senior year and I have a feeling I’ll be getting a few B’s because I’ve been enjoying life rather than studying super hard as I did the last 3 years (I had a 3.96 up until this year… oh well). As of now I have a B in 3 classes, and my overall GPA will probably decrease to somewhere between 3.8 and 3.9 I’m guessing. Does this affect anything?? Like opportunities for the future?

If you already have been accepted to the college of your choice, and/or don’t decide to transfer after your first year, no.

The difference between a 3.8 and a 3.9 is not likely to cause you any problems, so it is OK to relax a little. But do your best to keep things together this last semester. Some summer job and entry level employers will look at your GPA as a way of evaluating whether ot not you make a good potential employee. Some car insurance companies will give you a good student diacount. And of course, your GPA matters for college admission. If you decide to transfer, or if you take time off after high school and before you apply to college, your good GPA can make a big difference for you.
