Im currently a sophomore and on my 3rd quarter and my current GPA is 3.8 (unweighted), last freshman year i got really low math grades (B,C,C,D with a final grade of 83) but my freshman overall GPA was 3.6… Right now my math grade consists of A’s and B’s. Is there anything that i should do to somewhat redeem myself? Or will they focus on my overall freshman GPA and not really mind the individual math grades?
Several schools will not consider Freshman grades in their GPA calculation and most are fairly forgiving on a few low grades Freshman year accept for maybe the tippy top schools. If you plan to go into a STEM major, then Math grades will be important but as long as you show improvement, a few blemishes can be overlooked. Learn from your mistakes, keep working hard and you will be fine.
An upward trend is good. Sophomore and junior year grades are the most important.
