The circumstances leading up to this question are far too detailed for me to type out, but basically I'm taking an accounting class this quarter that is a prereq. for my major. I'm absolutely DREADING the thought, but I have to acknowledge the possibility that I might fail this class. Will my TAG get revoked? Am I able to retake the class and make up for the lackluster grade, or am I done for once I get a bad grade?

most likely if the class is a required TAG course or you’re GPA will drop under the minimum required GPA.

What’s your major? My guess is Economics or Managerial Economics. It’s not impacted to my knowledge so you may be able to fail/retake. Like HopingToXfer said, if your GPA drops under the minimum then yes they can revoke it.

I know you said your circumstances are too detailed and maybe you’re an exception but accounting definitely should not be a class you fail.

Is it no longer mathematically possible for you to pass the course at this point or would passing be possible but very difficult? If it is still possible to avoid an F you really have to do everything you can to pass, even if it means getting a B instead of an A in one or two of your other classes. The Fall grades are the last ones UCD will see before making a decision on your application and an F in a prerequisite will probably doom you whether you have a TAG or not. If you can pass the course with a C and even get some other Cs you could still lose your TAG if your GPA drops below the minimum but you could also still have a diminished but viable chance of acceptance without a TAG. However, if you get an F in Accounting, even if your other grades are strong, it is very unlikely you will be admitted to UCD or any other California public university.

Is there any possible way you can get a C? Also, what are the Academic Renewal policies at your CCC? If it is possible for you to immediately get AR for the class (and re-register for the class for spring), then your TAG may be revoked but you may still have a great chance of getting in during regular admission.

Thank you everyone for replying; I really was expecting the worst to come from you guys, and I really wasn’t that surprised reading your responses. At any rate, I did get things cleared up with my professor regarding a final project for the class. Up until that point, I have been doing relatively well on hw and exams for this class. I am 99% sure I won’t fail this class now, but at the time, I was pretty freaked out that there was a possibility.
