Hi! So I got a D in my Chem class this Fall. I'm a computer science major, and my tag for UC Davis was approved.
I plan on retaking this class in winter quarter which would end on end of march, before admission letters arrive.

My GPA before fall was 3.69. So regardless of my grade, I will still be over 3.2 minimum.
My question is: will I be rejected. Will my tag be voided. Or if I pass the class this winter quarter (Jan. to March 30), will my tag still be in place and I can still be accepted my not only UC Davis but possibly other UC's?

Or is it so that If I fail a class during Fall 2014, I won't be accepted anymore into UC Davis or any other UC for Fall 2015?
Thanks in advance

It shouldn’t effect TAG as you were approved and it has no real bearing on it. Just retake, obviously. As to whether or not it will affect other UCs, if it’s a major req and a selective major, it may or it may not.

Thanks! But doesnt getting a grade lower than C jeaperdize the tag and possibly revoke it? Has anyone here ever failed a prereq during their fall prior to transfer? How does it have no “real bearing” on it?

You have reason to be concerned; the Davis site says
But I don’t know what will happen, nor is it likely other people here do either. The people that know the answer work in admissions at Davis.

You need to be in contact with them (and your other UCs) to let them know and make sure you’re doing the right things to keep your TAG valid. As Davis wrote a few years ago in their alumni magazine

I’m pretty sure your TAG will be cancelled. Repeating a course in the Winter does not count. You will still be eligible for regular transfer decisions tho.

Bomerr, that’s because he failed a class after submitting the Tag, right?

I was told you could retake a failed class and still qualify for TAG as long as you retook the class before submitting the Tag. For example, failing a class during the first year, and then retaking it the summer before submitting the TAG.
