I have recently been admitted to UCSD as an undergraduate for Fall 2010. I however got a mail from admissions saying that they will have to review my apllication due to a 'D' that i had reveived in math during my first semester in my senior year. Does anyone know the chances of that happening if i pulled my grade up from a D+ to a C+ the final semester? Also i've been doing the IB....would that help in any way??

If you get a D, you will most likely be rescinded. Those rules are in place for a reason and the admissions office generally follows them. See if you can get your teacher to change your grade - Good luck

Is this calculus course from high school? if that is the case then UCSD can rescind you - but you can still plead your case.

If you took this from a community college or from Cal state system you may be able to get away with D, but you will not get any credit for this so you will have to re- take these courses at UCSD - you may want to confirm this.

My friend got a D in his Calculus course in his last semester. I know very ■■■■■■■■. His transfer rep and admissions said its OK as long as your last semester GPA is about 2.0 and overall above 3.0

Vee-did you report the D immediately? Like before June? I think they want to know right away. My son is in a similar situation and we are waiting for news too. Not a great position to be in is it?
