Will not having a conclusion on the SAT essay affect my grade?

So today I took the SAT. Feel pretty good. Only 2 math problems gave me trouble. Had trouble with a couple vocabs on reading (to be expected), but overall I feel comfortable.

However, I DID NOT finish me essay. I wrote a 4-5 sentence introductory paragraph with a thesis, along with 2 long (probably were like 7-8 sentences each. I was very descriptive with my examples) body paragraphs. However, I barely wrote a sentence for my conclusion when they call time. The overall quality of my essay was good, probably even great. I only had a few lapses in grammar hear and there, and would probably give myself a legit 10-12, 9 at the lowest.

Will me not finishing my conclusion (or not having one at all) negatively affect my score? If my overall essay quality was good, will my score be negatively affected? My ideas were thoroughly written and my stance was clearly establish, but I did not write a conclusion. How will this affect me? If at all.

I remember being on the CB site, and saw that a few of the sample 5 & 6 essays didn’t have a conclusion or were half way done. Some people say that the highest you could get would be a 8 or 9

Lack of conclusion isn’t supposed to affect your score, but I believe it might if your essay doesn’t fill the two pages–how long was your essay?

If I remember correctly, about 1&1/2 or 1&2/3 pages. My bodies, especially my first, were pretty thorough and long. I definitely had space for a conclusion, but compared to some of the 5 & 6 examples I’ve seen on CB, it “seemed” long enough. I made wrote about one sentence for the conclusion, just to let the scorers know that I was writing one, but couldn’t finish.

These essay exams are such bogus efforts to assess writing ability. Further, practice for them is ruining the writing ability of the nation’s students.

Thank, YOU! I personally am a very good essay writer. However, 25 minutes is just not enough time. I cannot put forth my best ability in such a small time frame.

Your score will probably be fine–that is, it will be based on how logically your body grafs support your thesis. A page and two thirds is usually a decent length, and I’ve seen plenty of high-scoring essays without conclusions.
