For my senior year I do not have room for a lab science (Environmental Science). Instead I really think I need a study hall due to my rigorous schedule. I'm taking AP gov, AP euro, AP lit, AP comp sci, precalculus, and international studies. I was wondering if by not taking a lab science if that would hurt my chances at GW, Gtown, and AU. I do not plan to pursue a science major. Also, I'm doing AP comp sci, although that is not a lab science. At my school this class is considered a business elective for some reason. Will colleges look bad on me even though I'm still doing ap comp sci? Do colleges consider this a science course even though my high school doesn't? I really need a study hall to get the best grades possible and environmental science is just a nuisance since I am not even interested in it. I can get A's in all my classes if I have this study hall probably. Thanks

bump bump!

It depends on the schools you are going to apply. For most top schools, they would prefer to see all 4 cores in all years with at least 2 yr of lab sciences…

Do you think that Computer Science counts though as a science? At my school it’s a business course for some reason. I am not majoring in any science so I don’t see a point in taking Env Science

It may or may not count as science, but it is definitely not a lab science. It is considered a math or business class in my D’s school.

ok thank you
