Will not Taking AP History/Euro kill my chances?

Im taking every other AP class available besides these due to time constraints... will this kill my chances at admission?

No, it would not kill your chances.

There is no one single choice that is gong to “kill” your chances.

.

Also, I didn’t take AP US, and I was accepted. So, there’s that.

I didn’t take AP Bio, Environmental Science, US/World History, Economics, Spanish, Physics C - E/M (all of them are offered at my HS). There you go.

I didn’t take AP Euro, APUSH, AP Bio.

And I got in.

I took a total of 1 AP class and still got in.

Pursue the subjects you are passionate about. Don’t take classes just because they “look good for college admissions.”

Besides, I’ve noticed that some AP classes don’t seem all that useful for MIT. For instance, AP Chem, I ended up re-learning most of the concepts in 5.111, plus a lot of new material that our AP Chem class didn’t cover (wavefunctions, organic compounds, some new stuff about rate laws, etc.).

I’ve only taken 3 weeks of Chem in my life, so I’m a little nervous about 5.111.

Eh, it’s pretty tough with little chemistry background, but I’m sure you’ll do fine. The only chemistry background I had was a year of AP Chem with a fairly mediocre teacher (I was one of two students who scored 3, everyone else got 1 or 2).

The thing about my 5.111 class was, the first pset was basically a review of high school chemistry, so I wasn’t able to solve about half of the questions on my own. Fortunately, the rest of the psets cover 5.111 related material, and can all be done with very little previous chemistry background.

Haha thanks for the reassurance. What I’m really excited about, though, is 7.012 - Eric Lander is one of my heroes and I hear he’s a phenomenal lecturer.

Haha that’s what I’ve heard…in fact I thought about taking 7.013 next semester, but changed my mind and decided to take 7.012 in a future semester. :)

I didn’t take AP lang junior year (a class that literally all college-bound juniors take, basically) and I still got in. It won’t hurt you, if you’re using that time for classes that interest you more.

I took a total of 0 APs and got in.
