I go to a small private school where I have a 4.0 UW gpa and am taking all AP/honors courses except for math. My freshman year of high school I was placed into algebra 1, then geometry, and now I'm in algebra 2 as a junior. My senior year I will have to take pre-calc. I plan on applying to competitive schools (Dartmouth, Georgetown, Tufts, Brown) and I am wondering how not taking calculus in high school will hurt my chances. I am not sure what I plan on majoring in yet.

Plenty of applicants get into top colleges without calculus; it’s not a deal breaker.

You don’t have an option, it won’t hurt you. Those who get in trouble are those who choose not to take calculus when they can (ie drop math senior year or take AP stat).

Okay, thanks so much.
