Will one bad grade lower my chances at transferring?

I’m currently going to school at a CC but am planning to transfer to Boston University, Northeastern University, NYU, etc, whichever one I am able to get accepted into. I was doing really well and had good grades until I took Calculus I and received an F. My overall GPA is a 3.36 with the F, will this lower my chances at transferring/getting accepted to these schools?

What will you be majoring in? If engineering it would hurt.

@TomSrOfBoston At the moment, I am majoring in Biology.

Do you plan to retake the class?
