At my school, it is required that you take science research with bio/ chemistry honors for 9th and 10th grade. I’m a sophomore in chem honors, so i’m also required to take science research with it. Research is not my thing, and no matter how hard i try i can’t get an A. This quarter, I got a C+ in research.
Every single other class I have A’s and A+'s in, and they’re all honors or AP. The only black hole on my report card is that C+. It’s only third quarter, and I intend on bringing my research grade up to a B or B+ for next quarter (so that I get a B+ in the class as a whole).
Will colleges see that C+, and if they will, how bad will it look? I am not going to continue with research for 11th and 12th grade.
Obviously it will look bad but no it won’t be the deciding factor on your admission especially if your gpa is still high. Don’t stress about it and continue to boost your application! Good luck!
It honestly depends on how your school displays the grades on the transcript. You say they do quarters, but I’m not sure if colleges will see it if the C just factors into the semester or overall grade. It will affect your GPA but it won’t affect your chances.
Generally colleges only see your year end grades in the transcript. You can confirm this is the case at your HS with your guidance counselor.
