Sophomore year I got a C one semester in accelerated Geo-Trig, but other than that I have great grades/amazing ec's/5's in AP classes/alumni parents ect... Do you think they will forgive my C? I want to major in secondary education with a focus in biology. Thanks so much!!!

Please respond! :)

There’s no reason to ask people to respond when your question was posted just 22 minutes before you said respond. One C will not kill your chances, but it definitely won’t help. NU is hard to get into, so I wouldn’t blame it on one C if you don’t get in.

One C, and that too in your sophomore year, will not hamper anything (assuming your GPA, SATs, and Reccos are super). Plus the fact that your parents are alumni will definitely increase your odds of success, if you apply ED. Good Luck!

Ok thanks that makes me feel a lot better, cause all my other scores are at or above their average it was just that one class that worried me.

Remember that a lot of schools will also look for students of character, not just good grades. Northwestern is one of these schools, so dont let it bother you too much! Plus that was your sophmore year, and you must have turned things around for the better, so I wouldn’t be too concerned. Good luck!!

I go to NU. I got a C in math sophomore year and I got in regular decision. One of three non A grades, but it is possible.
