I think my SATs and GPA are enough to get me into the SUNYs I'm applying to (Binghamton and U Buffalo) but I have a few low regents grades. Most recently an 80 and a 78 on English and Chem, respectively, and I think I've had about 3 or 4 low to mid 80s my freshman and sophomore year.

But my GPA is around a 94 or 95 weighted and my sat is a 1420. Will the Regents scores really matter when applying?

And is Binghamton really as good academically as some people say it is? My parents love it but only because of the cost.

Regents grades don’t really mean anything for admission. Sometimes, they are used in placecment. For instance, at some SUNY’s if you have 85+ on USH, you take a higher level course and at others, you might meet the language requirement if you get 85+ and do 3 years in HS.

Bing is excellent academically. My D has friends at Bing who love it. I know other people whose kids walked off the tour because they hated the campus. My D did not apply because it doesn’t have her major - ed. My rising senior will likely not apply because it’s too big.

Thanks, I didn’t really like the campus either compared to some other schools I visited, like BC and Georgetown, but its good enough. Do you think I’d be able to get into Bing?
