Will privates consider me as an International student admissions wise?

Here is my quick story.
I was born in Korea and came here about 10 years ago. I am neither a U.S citizen nor a permanent resident. I was adopted by U.S citizens and am in the process of getting a Greencard.

I emailed Cornell if I would be eligible for financial aid and this is what I got from Cornell as a reply.

"As you are not a U.S. citizen/permanent resident, you would apply for financial aid as an international applicant. Please know that financial aid is very limited for international applicants.

Once you receive your U.S. citizenship/permanent residency, you are welcome to apply for financial aid as a domestic applicant. As a domestic applicant, we would review your eligibility for financial aid based on demonstrated financial need."

Financial aid wise I know I am considered as International but for admissions wise would I be considered an international also?

hey i am in the same boat as you are.... i hope not because the international applicant pool is so goddamn competitive.

If you haven't been approved for the greencard yet, I think you're still considered an international student.

oh god.......... even if i went to elementary, middle, and high school here?

Yep, sorry. =/
I know someone who has lived in the US since he was like...2(?) and he's still considered an international student.

wow..... well here is my official goodbye to privates.

Why don't you talk to your guidance counselor just to make sure?
Are you applying to college this year or next year? If you're applying next year, you might get your green card by then.

What is your visa? F-2? H-4?

the former. i am really hoping that my INS interview is coming up soon. i already got rejected once....

i dont think i have a visa....
