Will taking both the SAT and ACT help my admissions chances?

I’m currently a junior and just took my second SAT on the November date. I got a 1560 (EBRW 770, M 790) and a 6/6/7 on the essay (kind of unhappy with essay score, as I scored higher my first test administration). I’ve decided that I’m done with the SAT, because I’m really happy with my score. However, because I’m a junior I have ample time to study for the ACT. If I were to score at the 34/35 level on this, would help submitting both my SAT and ACT scores significantly help my application to a school like Harvard? If not, I don’t want to waste my time studying for this.

No, taking both will not make any difference. The advice has always been to simply take whichever one you believe you will do better on and submit it. In your case, a 1560 is definitely in the range for Harvard - I would recommend focusing instead on your essays, Subject Tests, etc. now.

No. You’d be better off using your time elsewhere.

No. Focus on something more interesting than taking another test.
