I've been studing for the SAT for awhile, and I've bought more than my share of books, plus taken many from the library. A Kaplan PC program (utter rubish), RocketReview (it helped me alot in CR. otherwise, i think it hurt more than help 0_o), Barrons Math Workbook (helpe me understand the Math section, but feels too textbook-ish), Kaplan SAT Review Book (helped me on Writing, but didn't give too much info.), and a bunch of others. Most of them so bad that they aren't worth mentioning.

I finished my Blue Book, and moved on to their website. (for free :p) I've taken my fair share of tests already, but my scores aren't getting hare as of late and are feeling stagnent. My Math stuck around 600, my Writing at around 600, and my CR at around 700.

Now, I heared about Kaplan and Barrons 2400 books, and supposevly are strategy books. I've kinda got how to do the problems and even know when most of them are coming, but I still make my decent share of mistakes. In this kind of situation, will one of these books help my stuck-in-the-rut?

wow dood i can see u get 700's on the CR good job....As for math, practice is everything , u just got to know the types of probs that u could encounter, the same might go for writhing, and also it miight help u a lil (or A LOT) if u buy a TI-89 Its pretty good for Advanced Math (Solving eqns, inequalities, doing stuff fast)

Many people tend to plateau after they reach a certain score. The 2400 books actually don't contain very different material from the regular books. If you read them carefully, you'll see that they present nearly the same strategy, just in a different order and/or organization. Sometimes the problem sets are more difficult than those of the standard prep book, but the difference is miniscule and it won't be anything that will give you a 100+ or 200+ point increase.

I think what you really need now is to understand why you are getting your practice questions wrong and tackle those areas. Are you getting too many CR questions wrong? Perhaps you should change your reading style. Are you getting too many Math questions wrong? Perhaps you should consider slowing down and making effort. Are you getting too many Writing questions wrong? Perhaps you need to review your grammar.

At this point, blindly buying more books and doing more tests won't help to increase your score. You have to work hard and attack the problems strategically, focusing on your weaknesses. You can buy every book that is on the market and read through all of their strategies but you won't get anywhere until you actually identify your weakness and work to change it.
