I was rejected from UT, and now I have to choose between the CAP program and A&M. I plan on majoring in Biology and then going onto medical school. Some people have said that the Cap program would be a waste of my time since it's so easy, and that it also makes it harder to start out a steady 4 year degree. I definitely want to go to UT over A&M, though.

I already have credit for some classes, I don't know if that affects anything for the CAP program:
Chem - 5
Bio - 5
World History - 4
U.S history - 5
Computer Science - 5
Physics B - 5
English Composition - 5

and I should get credit for these after I take the APs (senior courses):

AP statistics, AP economics, AP government, AP English literature, AP physics C

Also, I checked on the UT website, and it says that I should be offered the CAP program at UT Dallas if I got a 1300 on my SAT M+CR. I got a 1400 M+CR, but it doesn't list UT Dallas as an option for some reason..

I would appreciate any advice you could give me. Thanks in advance!

UT Dallas is not a cap school anymore. UTA is close by and could be a good alternative. I’m kinda in your situation, I was accepted by A&M and Baylor, but wait list for UT. For me, if i don’t get in by the wait list, then i’m doing cap at uta. It’s simple, if you love UT then choose CAP.

I’m currently at UTA. A little over 2 months left of the CAP program. Let me tell you guys something… UTA is just a huge community college. The classes are a joke (I don’t study for shiz and still make As) and it’s soooo boring here. Like really. There’s nothing to do on the weekends, and if you don’t have a car there isn’t ANY public transportation. This school is terrible.

But then I went to UT Austin for a weekend (I already been to Baylor and A&M), and IT WAS AWESOME. The environment, the people, the drag, 6th street, Wierdos, Super Opinionated Radical Liberals who make you laugh, Shows on the street, concerts, great food, ETC ETC ETC. I definitely made the right choice.

Texas A&M and Baylor were fun, but NOTHING compared to UT Austin.

And how would it make it harder to start off a steady 4 year degree? I’m majoring in Economics and every class I took so far will go to my degree plan at UT. And I made all A’s in them.

Anyways guys, make some friends fast and the year goes by extremely fast. I can’t even believe I’m almost done with this garbage. Hopefully I see you guys at UT Austin!
