Maybe. I'd start checking every so often.

Don't forget to go to Housing and get your Priority Number as soon as you know you're admitted.

Some have even gone to Housing FIRST and found out they were admitted by being able to apply for housing.

parent2noles what do you mean by being able to apply for housing already? I went to the housing site and saw that the Fall 2008 term was an option and logged in and this came out: University Housing will be accepting new applications for the Fall 2008 term beginning 11/28/2007.... Please return at that time to complete your Housing agreement.

Does that mean anything? I want to know if I got in now! :}

You may find out a few minutes early on the Housing website because it will only allow you to apply for housing if you are admitted.

A little trick they had not fixed last year.

that's what it said for me as well,i went to the website just now.hopefully it means what i think it means.

Lavitabassa and tomatoking, it says that for everyone just now, sorry. But after midnight when everyone is flooding the check status page, you can check the housing page and see if it lets you apply for housing. If it does, your in, but supposedly not until sometime after midnight--when is anyone's guess.

But, D was playng around. She went to application status check and instead of clicking on application she clicked on application fees and on that page at the top of the page she clicked on secure applications. After getting that page up with a list of links, she clicked on things she does not remember seeing before. She clicked on one that said "identity management" and then "see your FSUSN." She put in her usual FSUID and password, the ones she uses to check her application status and it gives her a number. Does everyone who has an application have an FSUSN? Has anyone pulled this up before now? I suspect everyone with an FSUID has an FSUSN. She wants to read more into this........

on my application fees site it says:

Description Department Due Date Amount Due
ADMS DEPOSIT ADMISSIONS 11/27/2007 $200.00
Total Pending Charges $200.00
TOTAL FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS
Note: The amount shown may not reflect all University charges.

?????? is anyone else seeing that

You wouldn't owe an admission deposit if you were not admitted.

I know I'm being extra cautious here, but when it says...
" Do you have the right browser?
These agreements require Netscape version 3 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4 or later."
.. does it really mean it? Should I pull up the Housing Agreement on Internet Explorer rather than Firefox?
Also, do I have to pay the $200 dollar admissions deposit before I can apply for housing? Are there any personal info requirements for housing I should have gathered of ahead of time (besides the social security #)?
Thanks for answering these silly questions and easing my nerves. I want to make sure I'm ready to move on housing if I'm accepted!

Sunnyflorida, where is the "application fees", I only see "online status check", I must not be looking on the right page.

Thanks

ADMISSION DEPOSIT

The University requires a nonrefundable admission deposit of $200 from all freshmen accepted for the summer or fall terms. This deposit confirms enrollment intention and secures a place in our freshman class. You should submit your deposit as soon as you determine that FSU is definitely your college choice, but no later than May 1, 2007. If your deposit is not received by May 1, your admission to the University is subject to cancellation.

HOUSING DEPOSIT read the terms and conditions
Initial Payment: An advance payment of $225 must accompany the Housing Agreement for the initial semester of occupancy.

If written notice of decision not to be enrolled at Florida State University is received PRIOR to the official opening date of the residence halls, a refund of all fees paid will be made LESS:

• $50 if cancellation is received through May 1

• $75 if cancellation is received May 2 through July 1

• $100.00 if cancellation is received July 2 and prior to the official opening date of the residence halls.

You will have the opportunity to change your housing choices many times during the year before they are final.

A lot of information is available at fsu.edu | newnole

You should NOT have to pay fees before applying for housing.

Go and get the Housing number asap.

WCD

here is the link to the page to login and check the fee payment. while it sounds like a really good thing and cybermom is in all likelihood correct that you wouldn't owe an admission deposit if you were not accepted, it will be official when we are able to check after midnight and apply for housing.

until then, these are all good signs, but it doesn't mean your in for sure.

If it does make you pay the housing deposit do not delay, like we did. You get most of the money back if you change your mind. We did not realize that most of the housing deposit was refundable if you decide not to attend FSU before May and we waited a month until my son toured the school with his Dad. He got a number over 1,000 and one of the non-renovated dorms.

NYCOLLEGEDAD - you are right that it could be a system bug and may not indicate acceptance but it sure seems like a hopeful sign to me.

cybermom,

i agree. looks good. will look better after housing deposit can be made!

Thanks nycollegedad, my son also has the $200.00 balance - yeah. I sure hope it means he is accepted, however I am not going to say anything to him just in case...

My friend, who does not meet the requirements to be accepted into Florida State, checked her application fees section like we all have and for her there is NO DEPOSIT FEE. Everyone else on this board... and a lot of the qualified students I know who checked their portals do have the $200 admissions deposit fee. This could be good!

I also have the $200 admissions deposit on the financial part of my portal. I'm not very confident in getting in though which may make the glitch theory more likely. We'll soon find out...

The $200 Admissions deposit is on my fee page as well. I doubt that they would allow you to pay the fee if you weren't accepted, so this is good news!
