Will they rescind my offer of admission?

So far, I've been accepted to the University of North Florida (UNF), University of Central Florida (UCF), University of South Florida (USF), and been deferred from Florida State University (FSU). I'm currently still waiting to hear from University of Florida (UF).

I'm curious about something. My grades have been pretty good throughout my high school career. I've maintained a 3.7-3.9 GPA for the majority of it. And I pretty much have gotten all B's a few A's and one C--semester grade wise--last year, I let my dad talk me into taking AP Calculus AB against my better judgement.

I've been struggling with it all year. I go to school tutoring and I've hired a private one. I think I may be getting a D for the semester, though. I'm terrified. I talked to my guidance counselor and she told me that I should maintain a semester C average in order to be completely "safe" but I don't think that's going to happen. I already have all of my math credits without this class but the fact that my first ever D could be going onto my transcripts really scares me. The fact that colleges that I've already been accepted to will see it makes me think that my offers of acceptance my be rescinded. I've pretty much decided on going to USF--what do you guys think my chances are?

Can you withdraw from the class? Drop it? Switch it for something else (no “free period” but a 1-semester elective)?
If it’s just ONE D senior year you probably won’t get rescinded, but it means all your other grades must be A’s and B’s.
Don’t decide on which college until you have your financial aid awards in hand, and compare them well (even if you have Bright Futures or don’t need financial aid).
Hopefully you don’t plan to major in Economics, Business, or STEM :slight_smile:
and id your future major is arts, humanities, or social science, you should take statistics in college (and should have taken statistics in high school too, much more useful to the type of classes you’ll have for your major and for daily life, too.) If it’s Economics or business, then it’s good you started in AP Calculus, it’ll help with College Calculus 1, which is like Calc AB except very fast paced (1 year of calculus crammed in 4 months).

Well I got A’s and B’s in Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, and Pre-calculus. And no, I wasn’t considering going into business. I was going to go into something such as Nursing or Respiratory Care.

Unfortunately, I cannot drop the class–my father waived me in. Which is a year commitment.

@Roderick875 did you get in?!

Drop it like it’s hot.
