will they revoke my acceptance?

i just heard i got into MSU, but on the letter it said that they may revoke my acceptance if they see a significant drop in my senior grades. initially my stats were: 3.0 gpa, IB certificates, 1800 SAT score, Most Outstanding Award for English, 3 really good recs from my teachers, assistant director of school play, and prom committee head. i live in the UAE but i'm a michigan resident, and i lived in pakistan for 3 years before moving to the UAE.

however this year i really screwed up during finals week, and i ended up with a 2.2 gpa for the semester :(. i know this is horrible and obviously a significant drop- is there any way they won't revoke my acceptance? my counselor said i can bring my grades up this semester but with IB exams soon i'm afraid i won't have enough grades in to bring it all the way back up. am i out of MSU for sure or is there something i can do?

thanks :)

I would'nt be surprise if they revoked you, nor didn't.

Best thing to do - let them know what happened. Email or call their admissions department. If you're upfront with them they won't think you're trying to hide something...make sure they know you weren't slacking. Everyone has a bad test or two.

yeah- i was pushed into arabic II this year when i requested arabic I so that had a lot to do with my bad grades this year. also, i wasn't the only one who dropped- most people in my grade dropped at least 3 points in their gpa last semester, so maybe my counselor can write a letter explaining that? anything to ensure i go to MSU this fall.

thanks so much :)
