I was a great student in HS and a not so great student at my local uni which my parents urged me to attend when I really didn’t want to; because of this my GPA is under 3.25 v my HS GPA of 3.9
I know that D grades don’t transfer but will they affect the way a university views me?
If you’re a transfer student do they still look at high school transcripts?
If you’re transferring after two years high school grades matter very little, some schools don’t even ask for high school transcripts. They matter a bit more if you’re transferring after only one year. You’re right that D’s do not transfer, but everything that is on your college transcript will be considered when you apply for transfer admission.
Thanks for your response!! A year as in a full school year? I’ve only attended minimum full time for 2 semesters, and only one class this upcoming fall semester so pretty much I’ve only attended 1 year right?
Edit: I meant to include this in my original post but will just add it here…according to the school im aiming for if I have under 24 credits they will require my HS transcript. So do D’s get counted towards overall credits when they look at that?
Yes, you will be viewed as an applicant with only a year or so of credits. But do remember that each place sets its own policy, so you have to check everything for each of the places on your list.
Good luck with this one fall class. Do hope it helps your GPA a bit!
