Ok, so under the Character and Conduct Section of the application, I put "No" under every question (Asking if I have been charged with anything, disciplinary or criminally), but I had received some type of disciplinary from called a PS-74 in tenth grade. Although i entered no for everything, I still mentioned it on my application. This is what I said:

I have had no serious discipline. I put information here, because in 10th grade I was disciplined with some type of form for deleting a students file. This student was plagiarizing my work, and I acted on my own instead of reporting to the teacher. I received no real punishment for it, not even detention. I do not know if this is on my permanent record, but I felt I should explain it.

Will this affect my chances? Negatively? A small shred of me says it might actually help me, since it shows honesty from me, but still...
I'm just really unsure.

It does. I dont think they expect perfect flawless students who have never even been told by a teacher to be quiet. Anyway, I was just putting the term they used. Personally, Ive never gotten in any real trouble nor have I ever gotten detention. But I didnt mention that. I dont think… Maryland would reject me just on something so petty so…

You are objective though, so what did it come off as? All I meant was that I’ve never been suspended or gotten a referral.

I know personally when I read that sentence I saw “I have no PERSONAL discipline” (organization, sticking to deadlines, etc.) rather than “I have never been DISCIPLINED” (punished or reprimanded), which is what I think you meant.

While your wording is incorrect, it’s clear what you’re trying to say when you take it in context.

I don’t think this will hurt your chances at all. It is probably too late now, but it would be best if your counselor (or another school official) backed up your explanation of what really happened.
