Will this affect my chances?

I am currently a bme major at a state university and will be a senior next year. I have 4 Q drops (No Penalty Drop) that will show up in my transcript. And, for first semester of my freshman year, I ended up only taking 9 credit hours after the Q drop. And, because I didn't start off as an engineering major. It will take me 5 years instead of 4 yrs to finish up my undergrad course works.

But, other than that, I am in the Honors Program and have just earned a Summer Research Grants and a Research Fellowship. My overall GPA is 3.8/4.0 and major GPA is 3.7/4.0. I haven't taken the GRE. But I am aiming for M800 and V600. I am working on Pharmacology and BME research and will have publications for both by the end of my senior year. And, I've some officer positions, volunteering...and all those EC fillers.

Will the setbacks in my record affect my chances of getting in schools like Duke, Stanford, Columbia, U Mich, UCLA, University of Washington?

youre doomed..3.8 HORRIBLE, 5 YEARS..how could you! On a serious note relax.

a huge percentage of engineering majors (even those who start the program as freshman) stay 5 years. It's not exactly uncommon. I have a hard time believing that anyone will even notice you've been in school for 5 years instead of 4.

Then again, I don't work in grad school admissions. Take w/ grain of salt.

OH NOES! you are doooooooomed !!1!11!!

If it helps any, I finished my undergrad in 5 yrs (transferred once), and had a 3.7 major GPA.

chillax =)
