Will this affect my college admissions? Should I do something about it?

My problem when it comes to college admissions is that I have taken no foreign language in high school, and was not planning to, because I don't think I need it. However, several mailings that I have recieved from colleges have said they require two years of a foreign language. Because of the block scheduling at our school I could do that next year, as a senior, but I see it as a waste of time.

So should I take it?

Oh, and if it matters I am a good student. I have a nearly 4.0 GPA, have taken several AP and college courses, and got a 35 on the ACT. So I'm hoping those things will help override that requirement.

Thanks!

I’m not sure, but 2-3 years of foreign language seems to be the standard requirement for most colleges. Did you study something else instead of a foreign language? Maybe you have something else that will make up for the foreign language/make you a unique applicant.

Hopefully a few others will give their opinions.

Best of luck!
