Will this cause any major problems?

The thing is I'm not taking a final year of a foreign language (stopped after the 3rd level), and I'm doubling up with AP Physics B, and AP Chem. My sch. was reeeeally hard to work out, but it eventually did, and I have honors orchrestra (like...you have to audition and everything, and not everyone gets in). If I take out that for a core class, my sch. may fall into another mess.

Is it going to hurt me that I'm taking an elective class? I mean, I couldn't take orchestra my junior year because of sch. conflicts, and now, I have to take it in order to keep physics and chem, along with my other 3 AP's.
Or should I be a pain and bug my guidance counselor to change it to something else and hope everything will work out?

Helppp?!

What are your three other AP’s?

Lit, Psyc, and Calc BC

Hmmm I just have to ask, do you really need to take three sciences? Here is why JHU recommends four years of foreign language. To take more than four years in one subject and then come short in another doesn’t exactly look the best. You really don’t need to take 3 science in one year IMO. I mean it’s always the best to do at least four years of all subject. Why? Your going to be competing against kids who have done AP languages. Your on the other hand have only done only up to level three. I mean to put off foreign language in order to take 3 sciences isn’t exactly the best decision. Just my thoughts.

I don’t know, it all depends. If you have the grades and interest, the four years is simply, in the end, a recommendation. Do what works. I doubled up on sciences the past two years, AP Physics/chem, and senior year AP Bio/AP Chem. I will be taking AP Spanish this year. But it’s kind of the norm at my school. If you stick out from the others at your school, what adcoms look for, you’re okay.

It probably won’t unless you’re planning to major in something that has something has a lot to do with foreign languages. I took only 3 years of French and got in.

Wait…3 sciences…what? Is psyc a science?

The thing is, I suck at spanish. My lowest grade is spanish actually, and if I take it, I’m only going up to the 4th level. Taking AP is impossible for me, and I don’t like the subject…whereas i’m actually going to apply as a science-type major, and I’ve never taken physics before…so I have to keep that…

I do not comment on an individual’s questions about course selection … but I do suggest reading through this for assistance:

Depends, in my school it is considered a science. I know that other school consider it as social science/humanities.

However, it is totally up to you. You are not required to take 4 years and I can’t force you to. There are many people that get in with three years of language.
