Will this count as a W?

I'm a freshman, looking to possibly apply for transfer as a Jr next year.

So today was the last day to add/drop courses at my school [about 2.5 weeks into the school year (quarter system (10 weeks))]. I, on a whim, added Psych 001, figuring that it would be an easy class since I'd already taken it in high school. This would have put me up to 20 units, which I feel I could do but would rather not. So I decided to drop the class that same day.

So does this count as a W? I mean, I was only "enrolled" in the class for about 3 hours before deciding to drop it. A lecture hadn't even came up yet. I'm a little worried because I recently dropped 2 class having decided to go in a different academic direction.

How bad is it?

Please Help

Well it all depends on your college’s schedule. If you dropped the class after the deadline for a W, then you will recieve a W. If you dropped the class before the deadline then you will not receive a W.

It really doesn’t matter on how long you were enrolled in the class for. It matters if you were enrolled and if you dropped before the deadline or not.

Most likely if you’re college is similar to my Community College about the timing of add/drop period then you will unfortunately receive a W.
