Will this hurt my chances?

Hello all. I have taken 12 credit hours this semester. I initially intended on 15, but due to some financial conflicts I was only able to take 12. These 12 credits are english bio + lab and calc 1. Next semester I will take 16 credit hours. Chem calc 2 physics and something else. If I get a 4.0 both semesters will the first semester be a negative? I am also a freshman and I go to a commuter school( worst decision of my life) so don't try to talk me out of it, like on most cc transfer posts.

What should we try to talk you out of? 12 credits is full time and students are often advised to take a lighter load in their first semester to get used to college. Consequently taking 12 in the first semester and 16 in the second is a very reasonable plan and it will not have any negative effect on your ability to transfer. More important is how you DO in the classes.

No, I mean do not try to talk me out of transferring. Thanks for the advice. Anyone else care to weight in?
