Like the subject says, I'm only taking 12 credit hours this semester, and I was wondering if that could detract from my application. I took 16 credit hours last semester (although 2 were from a pass/fail ballroom dancing class, participation was the only grade). I started this semester with 18, but decided to trim off the classes that I was only taking to fill general education requirements. I also wanted to ensure that I would be able to focus on the classes that were important to me and maintain my 4.0 GPA, because I think several of my classes will be fairly difficult, and I lose a significant amount of time every day training for my sport. I run Track & Field, but not for my school, which is one of the factors of my transferring.
For what its worth, my classes this semester are Intro Nutrition, Intermediate Spanish, Understanding the Global Community (basically an intro to international studies), and Honors Intermediate Microeconomics. I am considering taking one more class to round it at an even 15 hours, but only if I can find something that really interests me as I don't want to take 3 extra hours just for the sake of credit or have it hurt my GPA.

Schools I'm applying to are College of Charleston, Rhodes, Sewanee, Ole Miss, Alabama, and Auburn.
