I'll be straight with everybody. I didn't study enough for Biology and Math I the first time I took it more than five months ago, but that was because of being too cocky. For the SAT, I was ill-prepared, but I wanted to see how the real thing was in comparison to practice tests. I got my answer.

However, I didn't expect to get the score I did in Chemistry. I have an A in AP Chemistry. My class is no joke. My teacher is no joke. I do very well on the tests. Every single released AP tests I've taken, I've gotten a 5 on. In the McGraw Hill SAT II Chemistry book, I took the four practice tests. I got three 800s and one 780. And I really studied as I studied for the AP test as well. So, I'm guessing that I made stupid mistakes or CB made a mistake on grading mine. Regardless, I'm just going to retake it after reviewing from the Barron's book. It makes more sense that way, it's more cost effective.

And, I've been studying for Math II and Bio as well. I really just don't know what to do about College Board tests.

Hey, I hear your pain. Sometimes it seems to me that no matter how much I study, I can never pull off a really good score on collegeboard tests. Idk, what I did was just relax, and always realize I can do better. For SAT chem, I was scoring 740-770 on practice tests but I ended up with a 720. oh well.

I'd like to go back to the rescoring issue. I just talked to two of my friends. One of them got a 790 and we compared answers after the test and the questions, about 10 of them that we discussed we had the same asnwers and we confirmed our answers against a source. My other friend got a 780. He got the laboratory questions wrong, which I got right, we checked against score again the test day. Also, the other questions that we discussed we both got right, checked against a source. I know I got 2 questions wrong, but honestly I couldn't have gotten a 680. Should I get this rescored? Should I pass up the June 2 retake opportunity? Should I retake and rescore? If I were to rescore, what is the procedure? Is there a way to get a copy of the machien output, maybe it didn't read some of my fill ins?

How much do colleges value getting a good score the first time around? Does it really matter? Do they like seeing a good score improvement on a test? Even if it is a recurring pattern on somebody's CB transcript?

Also, I took a Barron's practice test yesterday and I finished in 53 minutes. That test was harder than the May one. I got a 750-780 according to Barron's scale. So, now I'm really considering getting this rescored.

Definitely pay the $50 for a rescore. There's no way you scored as low as you did.

Also, most colleges are fine with you taking a particular SAT II twice. If you take an SAT II more than twice, colleges will think less highly. If you do well the second time, colleges are still impressed.
