Im a junior, and I would really like to go to MIT for Chem.Eng. However, I got a 620 in the SAT II. :(.

Will this one score ruin my chances of even getting waitlisted?

You got a 620 on Chemistry? Yeah, it would probably hurt then. I would take it again since you're still a junior and you have time. If you get a 750+ the second time, you should be fine.

But im not enrolled in any type of Chem class. Even with studying, I dont think it will improve my much...
If I do well on the math and another type, I could still get in right?

Hey SAT has come out with a new Score Choice option u don't have send the scores if u don't want to... check out collegeboard.com and the SAT SCORE CHOICE explanation is right there!

^^
Yes but I am currently taking Design Technology, and wont have Physics untill next year- and MIT requires an SAT II in Science and Math.

I mean, i have nothing to hide I just hope everything doesnt come down to one score.

You could take chem outside of school like at a local community collegeover the summer, then you would also also credits for college as well as study for SATchem.

Why would you pick the most rigorous engineering I'd u never even took chem in high school your gonna get killed with work I would think

^^ I did take Chemistry, just not AP or IB, and Im going to take IB Physics next year, as Physics is a requirement for Engineering.

word on the street is that the sat ii is a better indicator of freshman grades than the sat i. just sayin'

What are your other stats (SAT, ACT, etc.)?

I don't want to sound blunt, but you wish to apply to one of the best science schools in the world. That is a good aspiration, but without AP sciences, high levels of mathematics, and insanely high standardized test scores, you may want to study linguistics with Noam Chomsky instead.

a 620 in chemistry is definitely going to hurt for chem eng, you definitely need to retake.

well, if youre not required to send it in, then dont report it on your app, but if you have to submit it then definitely take it again and aim for 680+. but if youre applying to MIT then im assuming you have other aspects of your app that are godly

I actually have studied his linguistics theory in Theory Of Knowledge.... to bad he is in denial of a tribe that destroys his theory.

Simply out of curiosity, could you briefly explain his theory?

it would hurt for MIT
