Will this SSAT score hurt my application?

Verbal Score, SSAT Percentile 85%)

Math Score SSAT Percentile 99%)

Reading Score SSAT Percentile 91%)

Total Score 2235
(SSAT Percentile 96%)

Apply for Andover

Do you have like a way low self esteem or something?

You have a 96 percentile. That's the average at Andover, I believe. It might be 93. I don't remember.

But still, your SSAT score is great. Chill out.

Why would it hurt your application?

Ugh.. this threads are driving me crazy. I need to quit CC.

No, it won't. Verbal can fluctuate because the words fluctuate a lot.
That will HELP it. You have a 99 in Math. Their average is 93 I believe.

How can a 96 hurt? The average there is 93 and you getting a mark above that is amazing. Don't worry, it'll probably do more good than harm.

You are within the range of their accepted students. That doesn't mean that you will be accepted, just that you are in the running as far as your ssat scores go. I hope you are applying to more than Andover. With its low acceptance rates, it is a reach for almost everyone. Congratulations!

Don't worry samsam, you did really well. The average Andover ssat percentile is 93. A score like that will certainly not hurt your application.

asking whether a 96 will hurt is what could hurt your application. That is a score that shows you can do the work a the top BS or that you have been in a similar learning environment to date(and/or both).Nice work.

ssat scores are but one small aspect of the application.

Me thinks samsam is searching for pats on the back. If he wonders if his scores are good enough, he probably shouldn't be applying to bs.

I agree. ^^

He's just fishing.

This forum seems to be filled with people like that.

It's like..

"OMFG I ONLY GOT A 99% IN CALCULUS. WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?!!! IM SOO GETTING REJECTED FROM EXETER!!!!"

I think that's a bit harsh. More than one nervous applicant wonders in moments of worry or painc if anything below perfect is acceptable, and some people simply don't know what they norms are.

prettyckitty is right. Last year my son got a 99% overall, but not in all the tests. We both wondered if that was OK. True story! He took the test in Oct., and we didn't know much about the whole boarding school process.

SSAT is one factor in amungst many for acceptance. High SSAT does not gaurantee acceptance, low SSAT does not gaurantee rejection. I always find it interesting that forums try to provide for individual posters a kind of way to confirm or allay their fears. If you look at http://www.boardingschoolreview.com/lowest_acceptance_rates.php
you'll see that even the lowest acceptance rates are 1/5 but that takes into account all of the 11th and 12th grade applicants that are even lower rates, the day students that have a lower acceptance rate, as well as all the applicants that apply late, (again lower acceptance rate here). So if you apply on time as a 9th grader and boarder, your probably more in the 1/2 or 1/3 acceptance rate.

Hopefully you had a good interview and have good recommendations.

Good luck

Hopefully you didn't have misspellings for amongst and guarantee as well... and you used you're properly as a contraction of you and are, (not like I've done in the prior post) :-)

garrr! i hate you! i wish i could do that well! i'm taking it in november, december, and january for st georges, the portsmouth abbey, moses brown, the wheeler school, & milton academy. if i do as great as you ill get accepted to harvard for being a prodigy! lmfao.

o0o0o00o! congratz!!!!!!!!! wish i was you.lol. howd u pull it off? you study?

I’m applying for University Laboratory High School(IL) this year, does anyone know the average ssat percentile of this school?

I NEED AN ANSWER RIGHT NOW!!!

Moony, I’m afraid most of the people here don’t know the average SSAT percentile of newly admitted students to University Laboratory High School. You can always ask the admission office.
To samsam07: You definitely won’t be receiving any acceptance letters this March. Didn’t you mention in your other posts that you were already accepted to Phillips Academy and Phillips Exeter?

assign, if you look at the date of the original post, it was in 2007.
i’m assuming he’s long gone and not looking at this thread anymore.

I find this quite ridiculous…Don’t worryyyy about ssat…ssat is definetly not the make it or break it aspect.
