i got rejected by ucla and other private schools like cmu, cornell.will the rejections affect my chance when i try to transfer to these school next year ?thank you !

I can only speak about UCLA. All UC schools do not care about how many times you apply, so no, getting rejected this year will not negatively impact you next year.

I don’t think it would affect it at all, but if anything I think they would admire your perseverance. That is based on nothing but my opinion though.

really ? I heard about this rumor many times .Yes,i know UCs do not mind the times you apply because they even encourage you to transfer in the rejection letter .However, i am not sure about other private school like cornell or cmu.Does anyone know about this rumor ?

I doubt they would even remember your name.

It won’t affect you, unless of course you got caught lying or something on your application and then they would ban you, which in that case, you can’t apply to UC ever again.

Why would they care? They have hundreds and thousands of applicants to worry about. No one has time to worry about something as insignificant as number of attempts. The only reason they would remember you is if you did something illegal or completely against their policies.
