Will transfering hurt my chances of Med School

Alright so after my 1st semester at a college I hate I got a 2.893 GPA. I want to go to grad and Med school and I’m a bit concerned about my GPA. I am considering transferring to NC State, UNCG, or App. I have a lot of friends that go there and seem to be doing extremely well.
I was wondering how important is the “prestige” of a university? (not saying that there’s anything wrong with the other schools but when I talk to people around here they seem to be a lil one sided towards UNC which is expected) I know I could do extremely better at one of the other colleges because I would be more comfortable and happier there.

please help, i have to decide on which school to send a transfer app to by friday if i decided to leave.

If you believe that transferring will help you academically as well as personally then I say go ahead. Med school admissions are largely based on numbers so if transferring will help with gpa then that's good but be careful and research MCAT performance at you intended school and compare that with potential med schools and that will give you a better representation of their pre-med program. Transferring will not have an adverse affect on you med school app unless you transfer multiple times and still do poorly. Many med school applicants and doctors have transfered schools even my dad who works in med school admissions and used to practice medicine transfered schools.
