Will two C's freshman year kill my dream of getting into med school?

To make a long story short, I went far away from home to a liberal arts school for my first semester. I'm not making excuses, but I was struggling with depression and I ended up getting 2 Cs in my courses [Biology and Calculus]. Will this absolutely kill my chances of getting into med school? I plan on bringing my science GPA up, but with the competitiveness of med school, should I consider a different field? I'm really set on becoming a doctor, but I'm not sure if this set back is too great to fix.

I transferred to another school that I'm much happier at and I'm doing really well now. If I show improvement, is this better than nothing {i.e. "C" in bio I and "A" in bio II} I would retake the classes to improve my scores, but I don't really have the time as I haven't taken chem classes yet and I need to get all the pre-med reqs in.

–Don’t retake them, as that won’t erase the C’s anyway as far as medical schools are concerned.
–There are very few things (felony conviction?) that will by themselves kill your chances at medical school. But the rest of your application has to be better and better as parts of it get worse and worse.

How many courses did you take at your first school? If not many, why not start from scratch at your 2nd school?

Medical schools do not permit one to start from scratch; all grades taken at college-level remain part of the medical school application.

If you do well from here on out, you still have a chance.

A good academic record from here on out will benefit you no matter what you end up doing later in life.

Good Luck and don’t give up!
