I applied to UC Davis with a TAG that required me to maintain a 3.2 GPA. Well I got in and one of the conditions of admissions was that I get a 3.4 this semester so that my overall GPA would be a 3.2. However, I actually ended up getting a 3.28, making my overall GPA 3.194. Without the TAG, regular admissions for biological science majors requires an overall of 2.80 or higher. I’ve called admissions several times and no one can give me a straight answer. I got an A in bio, A in ochem lab, B in Calc II, and a C in Chem lecture. So it’s not like I got a D. How likely is it that my admissions would be revoked?
Wow, this is a tricky one.
I’d say based on your info, your TAG is void.
However, I’m not sure if that means your admission is rescinded…
I’d send an email stating that you still meet the regular admissions requirements, and ask if you can remain accepted even if your TAG is void.
Yeah, this is a grey area. Your TAG will be revoked but they may let you stay in as a regular. I have no idea how it works. You need to contact them. They never like being taken by surprise later on.
How do I go about contacting them? I’ve called admissions several times but it always leads me to “I’m not sure”
Email tag advisor and/or admissions
Thanks for the advice! I called over there and they said because I followed my two contractual obligations (at least a C in Bio and a B in Calc II) I was fine and still able to go to UC Davis!
Good news @daisy110!!
Yay! Congrats!
