Hi guys. So I was accepted to UCLA for Fall 2014 transfer but this semester I got a GPA of below 2.5 without D's or F's (mostly B's and C's). My cumulative GPA was 3.60 but it went down to 3.27. I'm worried if my acceptance offer will be rescinded because of that below 2.5 GPA... (also b/c of this GPA my sophomore year average GPA is now below 3.0). Will UCLA rescind the transfer acceptance? Would it be possible to take summer courses at UCLA before the Fall semester begins? I applied to UCLA AUD. Thanks in advance!!!

What were your conditions of admissions of admissions ? I suggest that you contact them right away. I have heard they really try and work with people.

The people that know the answers to your questions work in admissions at UCLA. Contact them as soon as you can. The people on this forum are well intentioned, but only UCLA can give you the answers and give you permission to take summer classes if that’s what you need to do in order to keep your admission.

Read the terms of your admission contract. Some people’s specify a specific gpa that you must stay above. But mikemac is correct that you need to contact admissions ASAP. You need to fill out the form in the decisions page that asks for changes/ updates. If you call they will only give you generic non-specific info.

The fact that your semester gpa is well below 3.0 is probably your biggest obstacle. Be prepared to explain yourself.

@Annie2015 @mikemac @2016Candles I reported the provisional contract and am still waiting for a reply… I’m so worried. One of my provisions says “Must maintain the GPA” but I’m really unsure what UCLA means by “maintain”.

What classes did you get Cs in? We’re they prereqs, major courses, electives?!

@2016Candles None of them are prerequisites. They are all electives but one is major-related. I hope a C on that major-related course does not affect my admission since that’s not a recommended course.

@Realgeukrak Can you tell us how the situation turns out? I’m in a similar situation, so I would really appreciate it.

@Realgeukrak good luck!

Let us know how it works out. It will help future transfers. Good luck!!!

@Annie2015 @mikemac @2016Candles @CollegeDropout1 I eventually received a reply today. My admission still stands LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I was really thinking my admission would be rescinded, but my admission still stands. I’m so happy.

Congrats! Happy it worked out

congrats :)

Yay!! congrats, I guess you were meant to be a Bruin!
