Hi there:
Im a California community college student and I received my admission notice to UCSD this past week. My problem is that I withdrew from a class of mine (with a W) a few days prior to receiving my acceptance notice. I called the admissions office and the admissions officer said that the W itself shouldn’t be an issue for admission, BUT I am now deficient in credits to transfer. Im currently sitting at 59/60 transferable units. I have emailed the admissions officer about my options but have yet to hear back from him.
I would love some advice from you guys regarding a few questions I have:
I have noticed that UC’s will accept credits from BYU independent study high school, but will they accept credits for a college level course?

If so, could it be possible that they accept the credits for the class before the deadline to submit transcripts (July 1st)?

Also: Sign Language classes are accepted at UCSD, but I have a sign language class from a community college taken in 2011 that he said was not accepted as credit (and he wasn’t sure why). I dropped my class thinking that I was fine on units because I assumed they would accept this class for credit when I applied. Could/should I try to appeal UCSD for credit for that course?
