Community college classes = ? at ucsd

I’m taking a city college class this quarter. Does anyone know how the grade will affect me at ucsd? Is it just a credit or is it added to my ucsd GPA once I get there?

Where can I find what classes will transfer?
I’ve e-mailed a bunch of the academic advisors but haven’t gotten any replies and it’s been a week!

Who there can help me?

try www.assist.org!!!!!
Is English 1A at RCC meet the entry writing requirement!!!!!

community college courses don't affect your UC gpa. The units you get from comm. college will only be added to the overall units you will have going into ucsd. the more units you have going in, the earlier you enroll in classes the following quarter. hope that helps

What do you mean by enrolling earlier?

And I think Assist.org is only for comm. college transfer students, meaning you go to comm. college for frosh and soph years.

You can take a CC course in HS and use assist to figure out which courses transfer.

A lot of UCSD students will take a language course (for GE) at a CC because it's cheap, much cheaper than paying the UC unit fee. I think it was only $25 per unit.

does CC courses transfer for just general credit or can it be transferred as credit for a major or minor?

what i mean is that registration at ucsd is based on the # of units you have, so the more you have, the earlier you can choose your classes and enroll. typically freshmen have the lastest enrollment times.

cc courses can be used for your major or minor, it depends on your college. From my experiences, they can usually be used toward your GEs. I've done that many times for Muir. You simply fill our a GE petition form and turn it in for approval; if they accept the course as being equivalent, you can take the cc course in place of the ucsd course.

Can one take a cc course in the summer and receive credits and also enroll in the ucsd course equivalent?
