At UGA there is early action. It's a simple process.

"Primary consideration under the Early Action plan will be focused on demonstrated academic achievement: grades in core academic courses through the junior year, rigor of curriculum and performance on the SAT I or ACT with Writing."

The kids who get admitted early action are on average a higher caliber than the kids who get in regular admission (b/c if they get deferred, they can try again when the pool is weaker). So the SAT average for admitted students early is like a 1940 instead of UGA's average of an 1840. The top 10% of kids admitted early action (or some % like that) are invited to join the honors program so they don't have to fill out the honors application later. I'm lazy and don't like filling out apps so I'd rather get this invitation. Here is what UGA is going to see:

My weighted GPA is 100.385%. I'm in state so I know that UGA keeps honors points. My class size is 600 kids and I'm #5-15 to put it into perspective. I'll find out my rank after Labor Day.

I've taken AP HuG, AP World, APES, AP Physics B, AP Calc AB, AP Lang, AP Bio, and 7 honors classes. I'm currently taking AP Macro, AP Stats, AP Chem, AP Spanish Language, and AP Literature so I'll graduate with 12 APs. Let's hope that's rigorous enough considering UGA's average is 5-6.

My best sitting for the SAT is 2200 (ew, I know. UGA is the only school who gets to see this) and my ACT is a 34 with writing
