By a VERY preliminary guess, I got a 9 on my AIME. Combined with my AMC score (136), that could get me a usamo qualification, if luck allows. Although I have been accepted, I really need the scholarship that UChicago offers. Should I send my scores? And Would it affect their scholarship decision at all?

Decisions are going to be mailed in less than two weeks, along with schoship offers...they'll probably receive it a week before the decisions are mailed.
I would have a hard time believing they'd take whatever you send now into account.

Send it. It might not help but it certainly won't hurt.

are you kidding me? qualifying for the USAMO looks absolutely terrible on a college app. Your chances will definitely be destroyed. DON'T TELL THEM!!!

jkjk haha.... yeah man go for it. anything above 125 on just the AMC is pretty much stellar. i got 119.5 because i thought it said cosine and not sine... SO lame. could have had a 125.5....

Haha...with a 122, I had the highest score in my school and the highest female score in the great state of Alabama. And that's my argument against affirmative action: I had the highest FEMALE score in MATHEMATICS in the state of ALABAMA. Now, how do you think that compares when they're looking at me against geniuses on a national level?

Only a 122? Heh, you do know that places you in the very top of people all over the US. At least you beat me in my freshman year where I ONLY scored a 116. Don't belittle your accomplishments, I doubt that many girls too the AMC in teh first place.

Yeah, freshman year, I scored a 105, you dominated me. You know the first thing I thought after taking the AIME? Okay, so I can say, statistically, by some test, that I and a couple of my friends are in the top 5%, or the top 1%, or the even the top .25%...but there is a HECK of a lot of difference between the top .25% and the top .01%. And then to make myself feel better...at least I'm not an lonely guy with no social skills. Vanity combats insecurity. Woo hoo to being nicer to look at than the top .01% of math geniuses! (Sorry to anyone who is...I joke about these things...too often.)

I don't think you can send them a "very preliminary guess" or even a "preliminary guess" without looking a little silly. Anyway, they're having an admitted students affair on April 3, and certainly want to get admissions to everyone somewhat in advance of that, so you're certainly too late.

On the other hand, congratulations, even getting to the AIME is great.
